How to Download X Spaces and Videos
A complete guide to saving audio and video from X (formerly Twitter)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Find the Content You Want to Download
Navigate to X (x.com or twitter.com) in your web browser or the X mobile app. Find the Space, video, or GIF you want to save. Make sure the content is publicly accessible and not behind a subscription or privacy wall, as our tool can only download public content.
Step 2: Copy the URL
Once you've found the content, you need to copy its direct URL. On desktop, this is in your browser's address bar. On mobile, tap the share button on the post and select "Copy link" from the share menu. The URL should look like one of the formats shown below.
Step 3: Paste and Download
Go to the X Media Downloader homepage and paste the URL into the download box. Space links download as MP3 automatically. For video and broadcast links, choose Video to keep the video or Audio to save just the sound as MP3. Click Download to see whether your job is queued, downloading, recording live, or preparing the finished file.
Step 4: Access Your File
Your download starts automatically when ready. The completion card includes a preview, filename, file size, and a Download again button if your browser did not save the file. Save a copy before the expiration time shown on the card. Video downloads keep the best available format from X; audio downloads use MP3.
How to Find the URL of an X Space
X Spaces have URLs in this format: x.com/i/spaces/1AbCdEfGhIjKl
To find a Space URL:
- Open the Space by clicking on it in your X feed or from a notification
- If you're on desktop, copy the URL from your browser's address bar
- If you're on mobile, tap the three-dot menu in the Space and select "Share" then "Copy link"
- You can also find past Spaces on a user's profile under the Spaces tab
Tip: If someone shared a Space link on X, you can also get the URL by copying the link from their post directly.
How to Find the URL of a Tweet with Video
Tweet URLs with videos look like: x.com/username/status/1234567890123456789
To find a video tweet URL:
- Find the tweet containing the video or GIF you want to download
- Click on the tweet to open it in full view
- Copy the URL from your browser's address bar, or click the share icon and select "Copy link"
- Make sure you're copying the link to the specific tweet, not just the user's profile
Tips for Best Results
- Allow time for live Spaces: A live Space can keep recording while the conversation continues. The file is prepared after the recording ends. Cancelling discards the recording.
- Check availability: Some Spaces are only available for a limited time after they end. Download promptly to avoid missing out.
- Use the direct URL: Make sure you're using the direct link to the content, not a search result or embedded player link.
- Reconnect after a refresh: This browser remembers your active job and most recent completed download. Return to the homepage to reconnect while the job or file is still available.
- Check your connection: A stable internet connection helps ensure downloads complete successfully.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Download Button is Disabled
The download button only activates when you enter a valid X URL. Make sure your URL matches one of the supported formats (Space URL or tweet URL with video). Check that you've copied the complete URL including the https:// prefix.
Download Fails Immediately
About one in five requests fails, and in our logs almost all failures were caused by the media itself, not the tool. The message on the progress card tells you which case you hit:
- "No downloadable X media was found at this URL." This is the most common error, about half of all failures. The post has only text or photos, or you copied a reply or quote instead of the post that holds the video. Open the post, confirm the video plays inside that exact post, and copy the link from there.
- "This Space ended without a recording, so there is no replay to download." The host did not record the Space. X never kept the audio, so it cannot be downloaded by any tool. Next time, save the Space while it is live.
- "This X media is unavailable or no longer exists." The post, video, Space, or broadcast was deleted, or the account was suspended or deactivated.
- "This X media requires authentication or is not publicly available." The post is from a protected account or is for subscribers only. We never log in to X, so it cannot be downloaded.
- "This media has no audio to convert to MP3." You chose Audio for a silent clip or a GIF. Choose Video instead.
- "This Space has not started yet." Scheduled Spaces can be saved once they go live.
- "Download failed. This X media may be unavailable or restricted." Usually a temporary error from X. Wait a minute and try again. If a link that plays on X keeps failing, email us the link at [email protected].

Download Gets Stuck
Check the status above the progress bar. Queued jobs wait for a free slot; live recordings may continue until the Space ends. A moving bar without a percentage means the remaining work is not known. MP3 conversion is a separate preparation step. Refreshing reconnects to the same job, so you do not need to submit it again.
File Won't Play
Use the completion card to preview your file, or save it and open it in a media player. Spaces download as MP3. To get an MP3 from a video or broadcast, paste its link and choose Audio. Silent videos and X GIFs do not have an audio track to convert.
Important: Only download content you have the right to access. Respect content creators' rights and don't redistribute downloaded content without permission.
